The language month is February. In return for the sacrifices of the language soldiers, we have got Bangla, the sweetest language in the world. Bangla is the language of Bangladeshi. From birth to the end of life, the Bangla language is spoken by millions of Bangla-speaking people. The basis of the Bangla language is the Bangla alphabet. The words we make to speak are in the hands of this alphabet. Again, this alphabet means the classification of different types of vehicles.
If you have a car, make sure it has a number plate on the front and back. And if there are no cars, then you must have seen the number of cars on the number plates of all the cars you see on the way back every day. Each car has a different number plate. Dhaka Metro Ka(ক) 1234, Dhaka Metro Kha(খ)-2345, etc., and many more. It is easy to guess that Dhaka Metro is a car owned by Dhaka Metropolitan. But between the name and the number of the city, a Bangla alphabet is also given on the number plate of the car.
Many people may know the meaning of the Bangla alphabet on the number plate of the car. And even if you don’t know, there is no harm. Let’s find out what car number plate is expressed through this alphabet.
Before we know what the alphabets mean, we need to know who the car number plates are in Bangladesh and how to fix them. When you buy a car, you have to register the car. The registration of the vehicle has to be done by Bangladesh Roads and Transport Authority or BRTA. When applying for vehicle registration at BRTA, they are required to provide the vehicle information in their form. After providing the vehicle information, BRTA determines the category in which the vehicle falls and provides a number of the vehicle.
Number plate writing format:
The BRTA has a specific format for determining vehicle numbers by category. The format is-
City Name – Vehicle Category – Vehicle Number
In the middle part of this format, the Bangla alphabet is used to mean the category of the vehicle. Now the question may come to mind which category is meant by which letter?
When a vehicle is approved by the BRTA, the vehicle is placed in a category according to the type of vehicle. An alphabet is assigned to the car according to the category in which the car falls. There are a total of 19 categories for issuing number plates as per BRTA rules.
